Vancouver Neighbourhood
The walk home from the station takes you past red-brick warehouses and leafy pockets of park.
Yaletown is a downtown Vancouver neighbourhood of about 21,000 people, with a median age in the low forties and an even split between owners and renters. Almost everything that comes up for sale is an apartment or condo, with a few townhouses; one- and two-bedroom homes make up most of it, and there are no houses.
Yaletown-Roundhouse Station on the Canada Line sits inside the neighbourhood, which puts you on the line that runs from downtown Vancouver through to Richmond and YVR. Several bus routes also serve the area.
Blue Water Cafe does seafood, Minami does sushi, Elisa does steak. Urban Fare at 177 Davie Street is the grocery store.
Leafy parks are threaded through the neighbourhood, and the mix of residential loft spaces and sidewalk cafés means you tend to walk rather than drive to most things.
Elsie Roy Elementary is the public elementary school, at 150 Drake St. Claren Academy is an independent elementary school in the neighbourhood. Check the Vancouver School Board catchment map for the exact address you're considering — boundaries don't always follow the streets you'd expect.
